OUR LEADERSHIP
Our organisation is led by a diverse, experienced and visionary leadership team. The board of directors provides strategic direction and oversight. The advisory council provides strategic advice on matters concerning organisational affairs and the management committee is responsible for everyday operations.
MOHAMMAD HOTAK
Co-Chair
Dr Hotak is a doctor turned entrepreneur and social leader . He is a strong tri-sector leader with extensive experience in the public, private and nongovernmental sectors. Dr Hotak is the founder and board member of Hotak Healthcare, Invest In Great Britain, UK Asia Trade & Investment Council, British Afghan Chamber of Commerce, Afghan Council of Great Britain and Afghan Business Association UK. He is a young British Afghan leader on a mission to put the identity and contributions of Afghan diaspora on the map of the world.
Dr Hotak is a renowned speaker on Afghanistan, Asia and entrepreneurship chairing global conferences on these topics. He has appeared on BBC, Al Jazeera, Islam Channel, Voice of America, Tolo, Ariana and Foreign Policy Magazine. Dr Hotak holds an MBChB in Medicine from Leeds Medical School and certificates in International Organisation Management, Globalisation and Leadership.
MARYAM ATMAR
Co-Chair
Ms Atmar’s career journey began in the investment banking, where she honed her skills in financial analysis and market strategies, laying a robust foundation for future endeavours. This pivotal experience sparked her entrepreneurial drive, propelling her to establish her own companies. As a dynamic leader and accomplished banker, she is deeply committed to driving innovation and fostering sustainable growth within the financial and business sectors. She thrive on challenges, continually seeking opportunities to push boundaries and deliver exceptional results for clients and stakeholders. She is dedicated to empowering communities and businesses alike, and she strives to unlock their full potential, helping them achieve new heights of success.
Ms Atmar is currently the CEO of global consulting firm MAIH Group, chair at the Afghanistan Investment Fund and Afghana Foundation. She leads World Afghan Congress’s global strategy, partnerships and foreign affairs relations with a special focus on USA and Canada. She has a BA in Psychology from George Mason University, an MS in Business (Concentration in Finance) from Virginia Commonwealth University and accredited professional qualifications in accounting and banking management from American Institute of Banking Investors.
